Hi.

I ran js_ratio (https://gitlab.com/sodimel/js-ratio) on a list of
domains (from a gist from 5 years ago), and I got a small list or
407 websites.
    > side note: js ratio is not a perfect tool, it tries to count
      inline js and external js, but it may miss some content.
    > another side note: js ratio uses requests, is not following
      301 redirects or 302 moved, and return "-0.0" if there's an
      error. There have been 59 errors for this list of websites
      (from only 5 years ago), omg the web is refreshing itself so
      fast.

Here's the sum of all ratio:
10476.480000000012

Divide it by 348 (407 websites tried, minus 59 erros):
30.10482758620693

Today, there's ~30 times more js than html on homepages of websites
(from a list of websites from 5 years ago).

I don't really know what to think about that number, but I'm mostly
sad that all we do is visit websites, make our computers go vrooom
to execute all this code, and then just clic on another link. Like
a big part of all this js must be pretty useless, since it's only
located on the front page, and people _may_ not stay on the front
page of a website for too much time.

Here's how I ran the script:

cat urls.txt | while read line; do python3 js_ratio.py ratio_only $line; done

I then copypasted like a pro in sublime text 3 (shift+right click (select areas)
is really cooool).
